Ok so I was going through some old photos on Sunday and scanning them in and this picture totally brough back a vivid memory. I don't know if we were visiting California after we had moved to Oregon or just spending the whole day with the W* clan but I remember all of us jumping on the trampoline at their house and then a really cool lightning storm started. It was the kind of lightning where it was jumping from cloud to cloud and not toward the ground. Anyway I'm pretty sure we got banned from the tramp because of the lightning and we obviously couldn't go swimming...so we busted out some makeup and painted each others faces. I think this picture just says classic childhood. Kids are so amazing the way they find joy in the simple things. When I was working at ACAFS it always amazed me the way parents would bring elaborate toys in for their kids and the kids would get bored after an hour on a supervised visit and they would gravitate toward the simple toys we had and make up some really cool game. Imagination is amazing.

LOL!!! I totally remember this! I distinctly remember those lovely 'J's that were on my forehead and chin. Man we made a good lookin' bunch!! Keep the old pics coming, I wish I was there to scan some in! I miss those fun carefree days in Cali!
Oh no you didn't! Just kidding. This is a fun memory. I can hear my dad's reaction to the picture, "Just look at all those beautiful vegetables." You know, in the back ground. All the crazy fruits in the front are pretty cute too! You're right about kids and toys. The imagination is such a superior play thing.
