Things are really shaping up with the paint going on the remodel. We got to start painting Saturday morning. My friend Katie joined us to help put on the primer. We got the whole place primed before lunch and then things dried enough for the living room wall (the part in between the great plastic barrier)and the wall where the sliding glass door is in the kitchen to be painted with the base for the cool effect we are doing on it. We also got the ceiling painted on Saturday.
It was nice to get so much done but we were pretty tired at the end of the day. By the end of the day it sure looked a lot more like a room. On Sunday we taped off the ceiling for our little FHE activity (we can't do it tonight because everyone has a meeting). Things were all ready when I woke up this morning and my dad and I started paining on the color. Now it may seem like a lot of different colors but when you see the finished product you will understand. We have this really cool tile on our kitchen floor and we matched the paint to the tile. The cool effect matches the tiles and ties in with the accent wall and the light blue/grey is just because we can't have white...or something. We are still working on the bellagio effect we are doing on the living room wall and sliding glass door wall but you can see the first coat. It's a weird metallic that looks light from a distance but when you get up close the silver really reflects and it looks darker. We aren't sure we want it quite that dark so we may try applying it and ragging it off instead of using the trowel like the instructions called for. We will see. Here are some pics of the paint. The tape and paper are still up but you can get the general idea.
Things are shaping up for my trip to Utah to go as I had hoped. It looks like I will be leaving on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited to see so many people down there.

hmmmm.... paint.... does any of it have lead in it? That's good stuff....
Sorry no lead...the metalic stuff has something cool in it and it looks like cheese curds in your paint when you open the can, not so appitizing, but hey what's the point of eating paint without lead anyway right??
(LOL at the above comments)
