I realize I have slacked on the postings lately. Ah well...life is life. A great variety of things has been happening around our house lately. Jayme and Virginia moved home just in time for Jackie and her family to come down and Josh to graduate. The full house was fun and crazy. After Josh graduated we had a brief lull and then we were up to visit Jackie for Keegan's big fourth birthday party. He was quite the b-day boy; he got a scooter and was so very proud of it that everyone who walked in the door after he opened it got to hear about it. He also got a t-ball set and a baseball helmet, which he wore most of the party. From the birthday party on I feel like I have had something going on almost every day that disrupts any rhythm I may have been trying to get into. It's been a fun ride though.
I got called as the relief society secretary, so no more mission prep lessons to prepare...instead all kinds of other stuff to follow up on and worry about. I had meetings and visits and all kinds of new things to think about in my normally boring weekly routine. It's nice to be getting more involved with the sisters, as opposed to the 18-20 year old guys taking mission prep. We have had a few fun family outings that have kept me busy as well. We had a fun trip to the coast and did some shopping & had a day down at the Alsea cabin doing tons of outside work to prep the cabin grounds for our upcoming family reunion. I also got ringed into doing camp. I was mysteriously put in as a name for a tent mom....hmmm wonder how that happened (beware of mothers in young women's presidency's). My mom failed to mention this little idea she proposed and one day I got a phone call saying "So we hear you would be willing to be a tent mom"....oh really...news to me. Of course it was fine...just a bit shocking. So I said sure I could probably do it and they said "Oh well we have a few possibilities we will get back to you"...next thing I know the camp director is calling me and telling me she heard I was going to be a tent mom and she needs me to come to a meeting. There was a serious lack of communication going on here! Despite all the lack luster communication skills I did end up getting enough info to make it to the first meeting with my unit. I get to be a tent mom for the 1st year camp girls. Camp starts tomorrow and so I have been running around getting various things together for the last few weeks. I was in charge of doing secret sister assignments and helping tie dye socks for our unit (rubberbanding 30 pairs of socks is not very fun in case anyone was wondering). My unit didn't have a certification leader and so I ended up getting some of those responsibilities foisted on me along with my other tent mom duties. Also somehow they decided to call me to do a "talk" at the Wednesday night fireside. This assignment remains a puzzle to me. I don't live in an area where the population of Latter Day Saint members is small...there are a lot of people to pick from and frankly I have never been one to stand out as a great orator...in fact it scares me to death to get up in front of people and talk...so why they called me...no idea! Should be interesting though since I have no podium to hide my shaking body behind. When I return from camp I will be sure to report. Hope you are all enjoying your summers!

Oh my goodness. Such madness, and so little communication... sounds familiar. lol I guess it keeps things interesting, huh. You're awesome to be so willing to take it all on though. I'll be your cheerleader-in-spirit while you're running around taking care of crazyness this week. :D
Love ya!!
